Robert Pattinson’s Movie Fails and No One Cares: Sexism or Overlook?

Does anyone remember last summer when Robert Pattinson was chased down an NYC street by a pack of fangirls and ran into a car?  Well apparently those girls didn’t love him as much as they acted like because Rob’s movie “Remember Me” (which he as filming at the time) completely bombed last week at the box office.  Coming in at number five, the movie only pulled in 8.1 million ( for proof) and got a slew of bad reviews to go along with it.  And no one called him out on it.

Now while I like Rob, what I’m really angry and shouldn’t be surprised about is that this is yet another example of how a man in Hollywood can have a movie bomb but the second a woman does, every blog in America is five secons away from writing a post asking if their career is over.  Confused?  Come inside for more. Megan Fox Spotted on the Set of New Mickey Rourke Film

The gorgeous, flawless, beautiful, adorable etc Megan Fox was spotted coming out of her trailer before filming her new movie “Passion Play” yesterday after a long time of us not seeing her.

In the movie, Megan plays an angel “under the thumb of a ruthless gangster who is saved by a trumpet player down on his luck.”  I have no idea what to make of that plot, but moving along.

More pictures after the cut, and if you didn’t already know Megan really is fantastic in “Jennifer’s Body” so please go rent it.  You’ll be surprised at how awesome and funny it is.

Razzie Nomination Predictions: Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Miley Cyrus In the Lead!

Twilight Saga New Moon Taylor Lautner Kristen Stewart news

I’m just going to be blunt when I say this: This year has sucked for movies.  Almost every movie released in 2009 was either a product of over-hyping, bad PR moves, or a sense of smugness.  And let’s not forget the fact that Nine has been torn apart by critics and it still has a slew of Golden Globe nominations including best picture.  (It really makes you wonder how much politics plays into award shows)

So thank God for the Razzies who will have no problem calling out most of these over-hyped, awful and downright boring movies by awarding them with the prestigious golden raspberry. The nominations won’t be announced until February 1st but there’s already a large commotion going on over at the Los Angeles Times for their predictions which include Kristen Stewart, Megan Fox, and Miley Cyrus in the lead for Worst Actress and Will Farrell, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson in the lead for Worst Actor.  The curveball will be if they nominate Nine for Worst Picture after it’s dismal box office numbers and awful reviews.  If it does get nominated, it could be the first time a film is nominated for best picture and worst picture ever.  See my predictions after the cut!

SNL Lets the F-Bomb Slip

So, last night I was half-way watching “Saturday Night Live” (reason being because I thought it was an awful episode) and I thought I heard newcomer Jenny Slate slip the f-word in a sketch called “Biker Chick Talk” but didn’t think much of it.

Well, this morning it turned out I was right, and a nice media crapstorm has developed over SNL for letting it happen.  What I find most ironic about this whole thing is that Megan Fox, the queen of everything that is outrageous, wasn’t the one to do it (and she was even in the sketch), but the newcomer.  Currently there’s talk of whether or not Slate will be fired for this and we’ll probably know by tomorrow if she is, but in the meantime you can watch the glorious moment below!

Megan Fox Believes She’s Overexposed, Remains Salty While Thinking So

Megan Fox is this month’s cover girl for Nylon magazine and in the interview, she claims that she believes she’s overexposed: “I think that I’m really overexposed. I was part of a movie that [the studio] wanted to make sure would make $700 million, so they oversaturated the media with their stars, I don’t want to be in magazines every week and on the Internet everyday. I don’t want to have people get completely sick of me before I’ve ever even done something legitimate.”

I love Megan, but I don’t think “Transformers” is the only reason she gets so much press.  She’s a product of herself and a lot of the outrageous things she says are what gets her attention, so if she really feels that way maybe she should tone down the crazy quotes (although I personally love them).  Still, I love that she’s a girl who is speaking her mind and is clearly very in control of her career.  I think she’s a lot smarter than we give her credit for.

Anyways, a few more scans after the cut.  Some people have called the clothes hideous and “hipsterific”, but I think she looks really beautiful and I like the clothes.  But then again, I go to school with hipsters and I think even when they fail miserably they look fascinating, so far be it for me to say if they look good or not… Continue reading

Review of “Jennifer’s Body”

As most of you who read my blog know, I’ve been waiting for “Jennifer’s Body” since July when the redband trailer first hit the next. And it appears that, unlike most people, I was one of the very few who knew it was a comedy. It seems to be the fault of Fox’s mis-marketing this movie as a horror film that “Jennifer’s Body” has done so poorly at the box office so far. But that doesn’t mean that this movie is without it’s horror elements, and with a better studio who would know how to market a movie like this, it could have created some pretty iconic moments.  Which is a shame, because it’s a movie that really needs to be seen in theaters with a large audience to get the full enjoyment.

The movie begins with a bang.  “Hell is a teenage girl,” Needy (Amanda Seyfried) muses, in one of the best opening lines in recent memory, as she’s locked in a mental institution for her involvemnt with Jennifer over the past few months. “I didn’t always used to be like this,” Needy claims after getting into a fight with a security guard and being sent to solitary confinement. “I used to be normal. Well, as normal as any hormonal teenage girl can be.” And with that, we’re off! Continue reading
