James Franco and Freida Pinto on the set of Planet of the Apes prequel

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Here’s the thing about James Franco and Freida Pinto:  I really love them (even though as of a month ago James was looking like a drug addict) but not in a Planet of the Apes prequel.  I would like to know who told them this was a great idea for their career.  Did Mark Wahlberg’s huge fail of a movie not tell them anything!?  Didn’t Davey Franco say that James told him never to do a movie for the money?!?  Oh well…

More pictures of the pair after the cut along with some guy in a CGI monkey costume… Yes, really.

Dave Franco is still alive, talks about working with Zac Efron

Despite Scrubs being canceled, I still stand by my statement that Dave Franco is awesome and will prove himself to be a great comedic actor.  And even though I was totally resiliant in my efforts to NOT get Scrubs canceled apparently America has other priorities.  Whatever.  Eff all yall.

But luckily Davie’s still getting work and his next appearance will be on the big screen with Zac Efron (playing his best friend) in “Charlie St. Cloud.”  I’m kind of worried about St. Cloud in general because it seems almost cloyingly cute but I’m hoping for the best and I’m sure Dave will be one of the more memorable aspects of it…  The movie opens next month and will be a major test for Efron on whether he can continue to transition smoothly into adult roles.  In the meantime, Dave spoke with Access Hollywood about the experience of working with Zac in a brief clip that can be seen after the jump!  Continue reading

Your First Look at James Franco on 30 Rock!

James-01
If these pictures give an indications as to what will be going on in James Franco’s episode of 30 Rock, it looks like he might be in love with an anime pillow.
Hey, Ryan Goslin was in love with a sex doll in “Lars and the Real Girl” so anything’s possible!
I’m ridiculously excited to see Tina Fey and James act together, and I’m about 100% that it will be all kinds of awesomery so I’ll be watching.  The episode premieres sometime this month on NBC!  More pictures after the cut!

James Franco Asks “Is It Art?” and Attends St. Jude Benefit

undefined

To all of the fangirls flustered that James Franco had destroyed his looks by dying his hair black and growing it out, BEHOLD: James at the Brooks Brothers holiday celebration which benefited St. Jude.  (Yay, St. Jude! One of my childhood friends had treatment there until she passed away a few years ago and they really were a rock for her and her family.)

There are some more pictures beyond the cut, but the real reason for this post was for an interesting article James penned for the Wall Street Journal about why his guest appearance on “General Hospital” is considered performance art.  The article is a pretty interesting read, and he obviously knows the history of art (I recognize a lot of the pieces he mentions from my art history classes) and puts up a pretty good case for why his stint is performance art.  But what do you guys think?

Article can be read in it’s entirety after the cut, along with all the sources and more pictures.

was recently treated to an early prototype of a dessert that Marina Abramović, the “grandmother of performance art,” created with the pastry chef Dominique Ansel. It’s a cylindrical pastry with a lychee center sprinkled over with chili powder and raw gold. I was instructed to kiss a napkin that had been printed with a square of gold powder that would transfer to my face before eating the dessert. This way the dessert would pass through a golden gateway before it was ingested. I did as told, then suggested to the chef that it needed more chili. Was this art? Continue reading

Dave Franco is Access Hollywood’s Rising Star–Um, Duh.

Access Hollywood is a little tardy to the party since I already named Dave Franco one to watch, but hey, better late than never.

Below you’ll find the splendiferous article on Dave and a new video interview!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. —

With his square jaw-line, arched eyebrows that frame his deep brown eyes and his ever-so-charming asymmetrical smile, “Scrubs” newbie Dave Franco is not only a handsome looking 24-year-old. Despite being a fresh face, he’s an oddly familiar one too.

There are a host of reasons to get to know AccessHollywood.com’s newest Rising Star and none of them have to do with his Golden Globe-winning older brother and “Acting With James Franco” “Funny Or Die” skit co-star, James Franco. Continue reading

New Stills From James Franco’s “Howl”

Some new stills have just been released from James Franco’s new movie “Howl” where he stars as poet Allen Ginsberg.  I’m super excited for this movie, although I’m confused as to why it can’t be released in time for the Oscars this year.  It’s just not going to be the same without Franco at all the awards shows this season.  (Mostly because I’m not excited about half of the films possibly getting nominated this year) Click away for a few more caps!

And on a side note, who’s watching him on General Hospital??

Your First Look at Dave Franco on Scrubs!

Dave Franco in "Scrubs"

As those of you who religeously read my blog know, Dave Franco is set to make his debut on “Scrubs” next Tuesday night as the rich, cocky medical student Cole.   And if you knew that, then you probably know I’m ridiculously excited that he’s back spreading his awesomeness on TV again (sadly “Do Not Disturbed” was prematurely cancelled).

So much to my happiness while browsing around YouTube last night at 3 AM due to insomnia and ADD, I found a just released clip from ABC featuring Davey Dave, and I’m happy to say that everything looks very promising for the series.  So click away for your first look at the new and improved “Scrubs”!
