Mariah Carey Continuse To Channel….Mariah Carey & Dedicates Album to MJ

Mariah Carey never fails to entertain me.  One minute she’s acting like a complete diva, the next she seeems like the sweetest, most genuine person ever.

But currently, I’m loving that she’s so obsessed with herself that she has to  remind us all the time about her most iconic looks (a la the recreation of the Butterfly photo shoot).  Case in point: these two pictures–the last one taken from a recent night out.

Anyways, in other Mariah news, she will be dedicating her newest album “Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel” to Michael Jackson.  Also, Elle magazine will be featured in Mariah’s CD as well (from the source): “’Angel’ comes with a mini magazine tucked into the CD jacket, produced by Elle and featuring ads for Carey’s new fragrance and movie (”Precious”) as well as Mariah’s lists of favorite things and interviews with her and husband Nick Cannon. It’s a first, but what else do you expect from Mariah Carey?”

Megan Fox Believes She’s Overexposed, Remains Salty While Thinking So

Megan Fox is this month’s cover girl for Nylon magazine and in the interview, she claims that she believes she’s overexposed: “I think that I’m really overexposed. I was part of a movie that [the studio] wanted to make sure would make $700 million, so they oversaturated the media with their stars, I don’t want to be in magazines every week and on the Internet everyday. I don’t want to have people get completely sick of me before I’ve ever even done something legitimate.”

I love Megan, but I don’t think “Transformers” is the only reason she gets so much press.  She’s a product of herself and a lot of the outrageous things she says are what gets her attention, so if she really feels that way maybe she should tone down the crazy quotes (although I personally love them).  Still, I love that she’s a girl who is speaking her mind and is clearly very in control of her career.  I think she’s a lot smarter than we give her credit for.

Anyways, a few more scans after the cut.  Some people have called the clothes hideous and “hipsterific”, but I think she looks really beautiful and I like the clothes.  But then again, I go to school with hipsters and I think even when they fail miserably they look fascinating, so far be it for me to say if they look good or not… Continue reading

The Top 10 Singers and Groups of Glam-Pop

What is “Glam-Pop” you might ask?  Well, it’s those songs that seem to be heard everywhere full of electro-beats, synthesizers, and lyrics about sex and making out with chicks.  Requirements would be that the said artist AT LEAST claims to be bi, you see about five and upwards hipsters at their shows, they have a gay following (this is crucial, although straight people like myself love them too), the term “fabulous” is used more than once when describing their music, the beats sound like they’re sprinkled with glitter, and that the artist has somewhat of their own, outrageous style.

So come inside for the top ten pioneers of this movement, because really, glam-pop is the new indie-rock.

Artist To Die For: Paris Carney

It’s been a while since I’ve done Artist To Die For, but that’s only because it took me forever to decide who to do because I’ve found so much amazing music lately. But this time I decided to do a true indie artist: the incredible Paris Carney.

If the last name sounds familiar, that’s because it is–she’s the sister of Zane and Reeve of Carney. For some strange reason though, she has yet to get a record deal. So please, SOMEONE get this girl a record deal! Because the girl has got raw talent. Her lyrics are poignant, and sung like you’re listening to someone’s diary. And her voice is laced in honey-drenched harmonies and vocals that can stop you dead in your tracks. If Johnny Long or Ray Lamontagne had a little sister, it would be her. Also reminiscent of Jenny Lewis, Jewel, and A Fine Frenzy’s confessional style of writing, accoustic sound and vocals, Paris’s music is the kind that you akes you over and doesn’t let go.

One thing that I personally find so inspiring about Paris is how hard she works so hard to be heard and get her name out there. If you sign up for her email list you’ll begin to notice she does A LOT of shows in and around LA. (And she’ll actually be opening for Johny Long pretty soon!) I think she’s a true testament to girls, and anyone else like me who’s nineteen and has a dream of doing something, that you can be anything you want to be as long as you put yourself out there, have the talent, and work for it. She’s also an incredibly sweet and gracious person which only makes you hope that one day she will get all the success she so deserves.

You can follow her on Twitter @ParisCarney and get all the info on upcoming shows, plus listen to new music on her myspace page at

And you can listen to a few of her songs below!

“Memoirs” (because the name of the song isn’t on the video)

Evan Rachel Wood Attends Curb Your Enthusiasm Premiere

Actress Evan Rachel Wood attended the premiere of the seventh season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” the other day to support her “Whatever Works” co-star Larry David and looked GORGEOUS.

Evan is also working on a TV series right now–“True Blood”–and is even rumored to be dating the show’s break-out star Alexander Skarsgaard. While her debut as the Vampire Queen wasn’t met with the nicest reviews, I thought she did great and played the role exactly how it was written for her: like a bratty immature girl who sits around all day reading Vogue and playing Yahtzee.

Haters to the left.

Parents Vote David Beckham & Cheryl Cole as Best Role Models… Um, What?

Today a poll was released by the Children’s Society that said over half (55 percent to be exact) of parents considered David Beckham to a “good, or very good role model” while only 18% said he was not a good one.  Coming in second was Cheryl Cole who won with 40% of the vote for being a good role model (27%  said she was a bad one).  The poll was conducted between over 2,000 adults who said “only one in seven children” still look up to their father.  Many of the children, it was revealed, felt the same way about their mothers.  A statement released by the Children’s Society said:

“This poll reflects our concerns that many children are living without positive role models. If children are not looking up to adults this is not the children’s fault. Both parents and society at large have a responsibility to enact a change of heart in our society and actually live by the values that they espouse and be strong and positive role models, providing continuity and support to a child or young person’s life. At the moment this seems more aspiration than reality. Adults have a collective responsibility to make childhood better for all children.”

I really don’t know what to think about these results.  Cheryl Cole??  Didn’t she assault a nightclub worker?!  Plus, it’s not like Girls Aloud is the virtue of modesty. And David Beckham cheated on his wife.  Granted these were a few years ago, and I do think David is a really good father but… I’m not really sure I would want my kids looking up to these two. I really have no idea what else they’ve done that should be considered worthy of “role model” status besides being in the public eye and being beautiful.

So all I can say is: Children, please look to people who have accomplished something more than a hit record or winning a championship.  Have a valid reason for who you like!  I would vote Meryl Streep as a great role model for girls (and guys!) for the reason that she’s been married over thirty years, has raised a beautiful family of four that seem to all be very close, and in interviews she always comes across as very intelligent and powerful.  Plus, she’s showing at sixty a woman can be anyone they want to be.  It’s such a great message that she’s sending to women of any age, that just because you’re not flaunting your body and sexuality you can be taken seriously and given respect by men. As for the guys, why not James Franco?  He went back to college at thirty because he felt like he wasn’t happy and wanted to learn more, and after graduating. wound up pursuing a master’s degree in creative writing while also taking the most hours any student has ever had (sixty) at Columbia.  On top of the fact that he still acts (that’s usually a 12-14 hour day), he maintains all A’s in his classes and has been very honest and candid about his troubles as a teen and young adult actor, but says now he rarely even drinks and never smokes pot.  I would love for my kids to want to be like them.  But what about you TMB-ers?  Agree or disagree with the results of this poll?  And if you don’t agree with it, who would you want your child looking up to?  Because obviously, in a celebrity obsessed society we are going to have children looking up to movie stars, atheletes, and musicians whether we like it or not.

Lauren Conrad Cleans Up for a Good Cause

Doing her part to be a good role model, MTV reality starlet and fashion designer LC attended Kohl’s “Clean Up” event this morning where she was seen picking up trash on the beach.  As some of you might have already heard, Lauren has just released a “California inspired” clothing line for Kohl’s so some of this is obviously for promotion, but I think it’s really nice that she’s doing it since you rarely see celebrities doing something as vile as picking up trash.

I love how she’s doing it wilingly though, while people like Chris Brown are being forced to by the law.  It makes me giggle.

Anyway, a few more pictures of LC picking up trash after the jump!

Rob Pattinson Jumps on Twitter and Parties in Vancouver

After begging and pleading from a million Twihards, Peter Fascinelli finally got Robert Pattinson on Twitter.  The deal was, if Fascinelli reached 1 million followers he would get Rob or Kristen to Tweet.  Today, millions of Twihard fangirls’ dreams came true when they read this in their newsfeed via Fascinelli’s Twitter:

“Thanks a million. Here’s Rob… Hi, it’s Rob… My first and last tweet. My dad made me do it.”

Peter then Tweeted again saying, “At least you know he doesn’t have a Twiiter account.  Lol. Down with the posers.”

This Tweet came after a full night of partying in Vancouver for Rob. He was spotted on his way back his hotel–alone–last night after attending a cast party.

Pictures after the jump!
